On Yourself
What does self-discovery mean to you?

Self-discovery means to me radical vulnerability. It’s the ever evolving process of daring to get to know myself and the multitudes that are contained within my mind, heart, and body. Self-discovery is a place of pleasure, comfort, enlightenment, and also of darkness, fear and sometimes nostalgia. My process of self-discovery is labyrinthic rooted in the courage to be vulnerable.

French actress Juliette Binoche recently said in an interview ‘you have to be vulnerable and strong at the same time, because you need to have holes in order to make the light come through.’ I couldn't agree more.

Can you describe your relationship to your sexuality?

I relate to my sexuality in a similar manner as I do to my dreams. I let it flow and wash over me. I’m a participant and a spectator as I am in my dreams, giving into the cinematic qualities of both realms.

On Sexuality
How do you give yourself pleasure?

Surrounding myself with elements that are to be devoured: from warm bread, to books and poetry, shared wine, balmy lips, freshly sharpened pencils or fragrant roses in the kitchen vase, soft garments that make me feel desirable and loved.

Daydreaming was a great source of pleasure when I was a child and I realize that these daydreams have grown into fantasy as I’ve matured. The storytelling capacities of my mind are an immense source of pleasure.

What is the one thing you wish a partner instinctively knew about you?

“To bite my neck, sing to me in bed, stroke my hair while we read the Sunday newspaper and I’m yours. Forever yours.”

On Womankind
In terms of women supporting other women, what would you like to see more of?

I’d love to see more women support each other in understanding from a place of empathy and free of judgement. Every woman’s path to happiness is not paved the same way, sometimes incorporating deliberate decisions and other times embracing their fate. I long for a community of women that is present and warm and with open hearts to let each individual story be heard.
